We are looking to recruit a motivated, full-time Research Assistant to join Prof Menna Clatworthy in the University of Cambridge Department of Medicine (http://www.med.cam.ac.uk/clatworthy/).
The post holder will assist researchers within the Clatworthy research group on a variety of projects, and depending on their level of experience may be given a specific project to work semi-independently on. The post holder will report to the senior post-doc in the group and directly to Prof Menna Clatworthy. The post holder will assist group members with immunological assays using both primary cell cultures and cell lines (both murine and human) and with murine models of autoimmunity and infection (therefore completion of HO modules 1-3 would be required). The post holder will also play a more general role in organising the availability of consumables within the group and among ongoing research projects.
The appointee will have a minimum Bachelor's degree in biological science, ideally in Science related field, or appropriate experience or equivalent qualification and/or experience. Knowledge of the day to day workings of an immunology laboratory, including microscopy, tissue culture and molecular biology would be desirable. Sufficient skills to gain a Home Office personal license and Training Modules 1-3.
Fixed term: This post is until 30th March 2027 in the first instance.
Informal enquiries are welcome and can be directed to Prof Menna Clatworthy (mrc38@cam.ac.uk).
