About Us

Spanning the historic streets of the “city of dreaming spires”, the University of Oxford has been ranked the world’s leading university for ten consecutive years. A place where centuries of tradition meet world-changing innovation, we offer the opportunity to contribute to an inspiring environment that promotes excellence.

Working at Oxford means joining a diverse and inclusive community that supports staff wellbeing, development, and aspirations while contributing to research and education addressing global challenges.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Governance Administrator to join the Education Policy Support (EPS) team on a permanent basis. EPS is a small central department within the Academic Administration Division responsible for education governance, policy development, student casework, and quality review.

By connecting central teams, divisions, and departments, EPS supports policy development, continuous improvement, and effective governance across the University.

What We Offer

Working at the University of Oxford offers several excellent benefits, including:

  • 38 days of annual leave (including public holidays), with the option to purchase up to 10 additional days and additional leave after long service.
  • Generous family leave schemes, including up to 26 weeks’ full-pay maternity/adoption leave and 12 weeks’ full-pay paternity/partner leave.
  • Hybrid and flexible working options.
  • An excellent contributory pension scheme.
  • Sustainable commuting options, including a cycle loan scheme, discounted bus travel, and season ticket loans.
  • Access to a vibrant University community through social, cultural, and sports clubs.

About the Role

EPS is seeking a Governance Administrator to support the efficient day-to-day running of the department. Responsibilities include governance and casework administration, maintaining online policy and regulations, and coordinating departmental activities.

The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the University, particularly within academic departments and colleges. You will build strong working relationships and coordinate complex meetings and arrangements involving multiple stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible and service-focused administrator who enjoys improving processes and managing varied responsibilities while supporting a small but influential team at the centre of the University’s education governance.

About You

You will be educated to A-level standard (or equivalent experience) and have experience providing administrative support in a busy team environment. You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

You will also have experience reviewing or improving administrative processes, strong communication skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships across the University.

Proficiency in standard office IT systems is essential, together with the ability to learn new systems quickly. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
