Position Summary: 

  • Provide operational and strategic leadership that supports the mission, vision, and goals of the University.
  • Oversee the development, delivery, evaluation and management of the programs, services, and budget.
  • Manage all staff within the faculty, including recruitment, development and appraisal of faculty.
  • Lead curriculum development and maintenance, academic assessment, strategic planning, and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Admissions teams to support and engage with student recruitment and promoting the School and University.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships with faculty and staff within the school and among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the University when required at official functions.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Awareness of current concepts and trends in the programs of all disciplines under supervision.
  • Prior experience of managing faculty and academic programs.
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of the teaching team.
  • Ability to be flexible and proactive, able to adapt to and address changes in programs, staffing, and student body.
  • Cultural Sensitivity. Able to adapt to and respect the Khmer culture.
  • Desire and ability to make decisions based on an orientation to people that serves the clientele of the School and ability to work with and relate to community constituencies.  
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and interpersonal relations.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strategic, collaborative, innovative leadership and oversight of departmental plans relating to academic programs, curriculum, scheduling and learning environments to assure institutional effectiveness and efficiencies, respond to student needs, and meet accreditation and regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensure that the faculty plans align with and support the University's mission, vision, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and guidance to faculty and staff within the faculty; support full-time faculty through the onboarding, tenure, and promotion processes; provides ongoing support for all faculty throughout their tenure.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of programs and curriculum, instructional delivery across all modalities, and academic assessment activities.
  • Foster the development of Areas of Study within the School to support Guided Pathways and student success.  Enhance non-credit to credit educational pathways for students. 
  • Support enrollment management and marketing strategies to enhance program health, recognition, and growth. Model and maintain high performance professional standards and expectations.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local and international business community. Actively participate in and/or lead various University committees, meetings, and workgroups.
  • Respond to faculty, staff, and student concerns in a timely manner, maintaining integrity and appropriate confidentiality throughout the process. 
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with business and industry partners, agencies, community organizations and/or education institutions.
  • Actively participates in professional development relevant to higher education and their disciplinary field. 
  • Demonstrate and model the University's competencies: teamwork, initiative, development/supervision of staff, customer service, and continuous professional development and growth. Implement special responsibilities, as assigned by the supervisor. 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree from an accredited institution in Law or a related academic field.
  • Ideally, 5 -10 years of higher education experience relevant to the School of Law.
  • Experience managing academic programs and faculty.
  • Demonstrated research and publication record.
  • Experience securing research funding, developing or managing online courses, and budget management.
  • Willingness to relocate to Cambodia for at least 3 years (extendable by mutual agreement).
