About the role

We are recruiting one NIHR Barts BRC Research Theme Delivery Manager - Precision Cancer Care for our Cardiovascular and Cancer themes. Research Managers are responsible for coordinating and monitoring thematic projects and general operations within the themes to ensure delivery against agreed plans, milestones and budgets. The post supports effective resource and financial management, research grant activity, and the preparation of reports and documentation. The successful candidate will work closely with Research Theme Leads, and delivery partners/stakeholders. The role involves oversight of theme performance, contribution to report and publication development, and support for communication, dissemination and engagement activities across the BRC delivery partnership and wider audiences.

About you

You are highly motivated, with a relevant undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience, in a relevant discipline. You have formal or equivalent experience in programme or project management, with a strong track record in operational delivery, staff management and budget planning within HEI and/or NHS settings. You bring excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills, and are highly organised. You are IT literate, adaptable, while exercising sound judgement and professionalism. 

About the school/department/institute/project

The NIHR Barts Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) is hosted by Barts Health NHS Trust and is part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). The BRC is a delivery partnership between Barts Health NHS Trust, Queen Mary University of London, City St George's University of London, and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The current iteration of the BRC (2022-2028) encompasses four research themes across three specialty areas: Cardiovascular (Precision Genomic Medicine & Precision Digital Health, Cardiovascular Devices and Trials), Precision Cancer Care, and Precision Musculoskeletal Care.
