We are looking to appoint a skilled technician to provide highly specialist technical support to enable the effective operation of the Centre for Climate Repair's Marine Cloud Brightening and Stratospheric Aerosol Injection laboratories based at the Department of Engineering's site in Central Cambridge. Reporting to the Divisional Laboratory Manager and based in the Mechanics and Materials Division, you will play a central role in the operation and technical development of the laboratory. You will provide tailored, highly specialist technical guidance and support to researchers and students, contribute to the development of new methodologies and testing approaches and ensure that standard operating procedures and risk assessments remain current and effective. 

Through close collaboration with academics, researchers and external suppliers, you will support the smooth delivery of the Centre for Climate Repair's experimental programmes. 

The successful applicant will be educated to degree level/level 6 vocational qualification or have an equivalent level of practical experience. You will need to demonstrate advanced knowledge of lab technician work and knowledge in engineering/chemistry related subjects. You should also possess excellent communication and organisational skills and good IT skills Specialist knowledge of relevant regulations and practice, as well as practical experience of specialised laboratory activity and equipment, are also required. The ability to work to a high degree of precision and accuracy is needed and also experience in providing training to groups and individuals.
