The Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University invites applications for associate professorship positions in engineering.
An associate professorship is a full-time permanent position. The starting date is 1 September 2026 or as agreed upon.
Associate professors balance their time evenly between research and teaching activities. The successful candidates will join the EngTech research section.
Job description
We are looking for candidates who can strengthen our research profile. A significant part of our work involves collaboration with business partners, and we often carry out applied research. Therefore, it is important that candidates conduct research on topics relevant to modern companies, and candidates with research activities involving industry will be preferred.
Research disciplines relevant to the position include:
Candidates are expected to teach and supervise students at all levels, including PhD students. Our study programme portfolio in engineering consists of an MSc in Engineering (Technology Based Business Development) as well as two Bachelor of Engineering programmes in Forretningsudvikling (Business Development; cyberphysical systems/product and system development) and Global Management and Manufacturing (operations/manufacturing systems and supply chain management). Teaching will primarily take place within these programmes, although teaching in our IT and business engineering programmes may also become relevant.
Permanent employment as associate professor at Aarhus BSS requires completion of, within a two year period, the supervision course and also the course Online and blended learning provided by Centre for Educational Development at Aarhus University.
Non-Danish speakers are required to acquire a working knowledge of Danish within the first 3 years of employment. Where relevant, the department will grant time off from teaching duties to attend Danish courses during the first two years of employment.
Your qualifications
Employment as an associate professor requires a PhD degree and a strong academic
background as assistant professor or equivalent. Furthermore, we prefer applicants with the following qualifications:
