Act as a Senior Technician for the ASSET Technology Centre with the responsibility for day-to-day operation and coordination of the Centre’s mass spectrometry instruments and associated peripheral instruments.
This post is responsible for operation of the laboratory’s instrument/space booking system, routine maintenance of instruments including appropriate engagement with suppliers, monitoring and ordering replacement shared consumables, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, training new staff/students in operation of instruments, and facilitating internal and external analytical work through development of new methodologies and running samples.

This is a 2 year fixed term post. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
