We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to work with Dr Sharifa Abdulla on the project “Global Research on Arts, Cultural Engagement and healthy ageing through advancing Epidemiological methods (GRACE-Epi)”.
GRACE-Epi is a research programme that brings together researchers and experts from the Global North and South in arts, humanities, social sciences, epidemiology, data science, and molecular biology to understand how arts and cultural engagement affects health and ageing. As part of this project, we will run workshops across diverse cultural contexts to build the conceptual foundations for the work.
The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with local and global partners to plan and deliver workshops according to project objectives. Short international trips will be necessary and so the postholder will be required to travel abroad.
For further details about the project, see: sbbresearch.org/projects/grace-epi.
Candidates should have comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of current issues and future directions within Global Arts and Health research, knowledge of Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) models or frameworks, and an ability to communicate and coordinate partnerships across cultural contexts including the global south.
Applications are particularly welcome from candidates who have knowledge in decolonial/culturally sensitive approaches in Arts and Health research, whom have an ability to organise, analyse and interpret data from Arts-Based/creative workshops, and whom have experience facilitating creative workshops.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and fixed term for up to 12 months (with an anticipated start date as soon as practicable following completion of the recruitment process).
For informal enquiries, please contact Dr Sharifa Abdulla, sharifa.abdulla@glasgow.ac.uk
