We have an exciting opportunity for Academic Engagement Coach to join the Student Support and Success Directorate to work at the heart of our work to support students to reach their full potential in their academic studies. We are looking for a driven, innovative, self-aware person who is passionate about making a positive difference through a proactive approach to academic support, to enable their students successfully continue, progress and complete their studies.
Academic Engagement Coaches are at the heart of our work, supporting all our students as they work towards successfully completing their degrees. You’ll be designing academic study and engagement plans with students and working with academic colleagues and specialist professional services teams to ensure that we put in place early interventions for ‘at-risk’ groups and respond to indicators of low student attendance and engagement. You will be responsible for identifying, planning, and monitoring the impact of our interventions with students, through a data driven approach. You will also support our work in monitoring and providing pro-active, and predictive, interventions for international students with low attendance and engagement and are at risk of breaching their student visa and compliance requirements.
An Academic Engagement Coach you will be expected to be an outstanding communicator, with a commitment to supporting every single student on their student journey while at Roehampton. You will be expected to be proactive, engaging, and confident in your approach, no issue will be too large or too small for you to address. You will be key in identifying trends for poor attendance and early disengagement, while being responsible for designing and implementing bespoke academic and engagement interventions with the objective of improving student attendance, retention, and progression.
