Description of Post

The Assistant Lecturer will be instrumental in organising and mentoring students during their community and clinical placements. They will provide hands-on training, helping students develop essential skills in dietetics, such as patient assessment, nutritional planning, and professional communication. By offering guidance, feedback, and real-world experience, the Practice Educator will bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application. Their role will also involve assessing student competency, ensuring they meet professional standards required for qualification. Ultimately, they help shape the next generation of dietitians by fostering confidence, critical thinking, and ethical practice.

Essential Qualifications

• An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant* Level 8 degree [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent.
• Three years relevant post-qualification experience.
• Relevant qualification in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics.
