About the Department
The Immigration Advisory Service is a specialist team within Student and Academic Services, responsible providing advice to prospective and future students, managing the issuing of CAS for students, enabling recruitment of colleagues who require sponsorship to study or work at Goldsmiths and overseeing our compliance activity.
About the role
You will deliver high-quality immigration advice and support to international students, helping them to understand and meet UK visa requirements throughout their studies. Alongside advisory work, you will contribute to the institution’s compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) sponsor licence requirements, supporting accurate record-keeping, reporting, and monitoring in line with regulations.
Working across both Advice and Compliance functions, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance while delivering an excellent student experience. The role is primarily student-focused, with occasional support for staff immigration queries.
About the Candidate
You will have experience providing immigration advice on Student and Graduate routes, with the ability to manage your own caseload and deliver accurate, timely guidance. You will be confident assessing eligibility and reviewing supporting documentation, including financial evidence.
You will also bring an understanding of UKVI sponsorship requirements and experience of working with compliant processes, such as record-keeping, monitoring, or reporting. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance competing priorities are essential.
