About the role

UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering is seeking a Building Manager to support two complex research environments located in Dagenham East: the Person-Environment-Activity Research Laboratory (PEARL), which investigates how people interact with their surroundings in full-scale multisensory environments, and the Clean Active Ventilation Environments (CAVE), a large environmental chamber for studying how people respond to different ventilation, temperature and humidity conditions.

The Building Manager will oversee the effective day-to-day operation of the Dagenham East facilities, including coordinating and managing building resources, and controlling access to the site. The postholder will maintain asset registers for equipment and ensure maintenance, servicing and statutory testing are scheduled and completed appropriately. It also involves managing external contractors and service providers, ensuring work is carried out safely, effectively and to the required standards. The postholder will also lead on health and safety across the facilities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, overseeing inductions and risk management processes, and supporting resilience planning and business continuity.

This is an on-site first role (minimum 80% on-site).
