About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Vascular Research Team within the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences as a Project Support Manager. Reporting to the Senior Clinical Research Manager (Vascular), you will play a central role in supporting the setup, delivery and close‑down of research projects across the vascular portfolio. You will work closely with the NIHR Professor of Vascular Surgery, supporting their NIHR‑funded Professorship, and ensuring that studies progress efficiently and in line with protocols, regulatory approvals and Good Clinical Practice.
You will lead and manage a small team of trial managers, coordinators and administrators, providing day‑to‑day guidance and fostering a collaborative, high‑performing working environment. Working independently as well as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, you will liaise regularly with colleagues across the University, the Leicester Clinical Trials Unit, NHS partners, funders and external collaborators. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful vascular research while supporting the growth and sustainability of Leicester’s expanding research portfolio.
About you
You will have a higher degree in a relevant biomedical discipline or significant experience in clinical trial management, with a strong understanding of research governance, GCP and regulatory requirements. You will bring experience of preparing regulatory and ethics submissions, developing trial documentation and coordinating complex research activities. Strong project management skills, excellent communication and the ability to lead, motivate and support others are essential.
You will be confident managing competing priorities and working proactively to solve problems, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Experience with NHS-based research, data management or project management tools would be an advantage.
