Do you want to join the UK Recruitment and Outreach team at London’s University of the year? This exciting position will play a pivotal role in engaging students at local schools and colleges to deliver and participate in our student recruitment events, on and off campus, including UCAS fairs, undergraduate and postgraduate open days. Organised, with high attention to detail, you will help with the planning and delivery of innovative outreach and widening participation activities.
The role of the UK Recruitment and Outreach Co-ordinator is key in supporting our dedicated team to deliver a portfolio of experiential activities and initiatives for prospective students. We work with local students and deliver activities that support students in developing their aspirations, attitudes and academic attainment. The co-ordinator will help organise outreach activities with local schools as well as supporting the delivery with students.
We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging with young people and who can communicate enthusiastically with potential students, as well as their advisors, parents and carers about all that the University has to offer. You will be one of several co-ordinators critical to both the organisation and the delivery of recruitment and outreach activities. This role has been opened up at a time of team expansion and presents significant development opportunities. Middlesex will offer you a platform to develop a broad portfolio of recruitment and outreach experience plus opportunities to support key marketing activities and develop commercial acumen. It would be an advantage if you have working knowledge of the UK education system including an awareness of current recruitment and access challenges facing the UK Higher Education sector. You’ll be a team player who is also able to use your own initiative to achieve results and with excellent attention to detail.
A week in the life of the post holder; a busy week for the UK Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator could see the post holder support an academic taster day for Y13s on campus. This could include liaising with the school before the visit, the supervision of Student Ambassadors who are supporting on the day, managing the logistics of the day around registration, scheduling, catering and transport and troubleshooting any issues that arise. Later that week, the role could see you participating in an event on our campus, raising awareness of our postgraduate courses to our own undergraduate students. Later, you could be supporting a group of Year 10s in a local school with an assembly talk describing university life. Your week could end with a planning session with the rest of the team around ideas for the development of new activities. Tasks will be varied and will support the whole team in their work with prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students and those underrepresented in higher education.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate.
