The School of Medicine wishes to appoint a Clinical Teacher to join our MBBS teaching team. This is a fixed term one-year post from August 2026 until July 2027 and is an ideal opportunity to gain further experience in teaching, assessment and curriculum development.
This will be a varied post supporting Year 3 and 4 MBBS students who will be based at the University’s Burnley Campus. You will focus on teaching and small group facilitation for the Year 3 and Year 4 students, including clinical skills, case-based learning, clinical reasoning, interprofessional education and professionalism. In addition, the Clinical Teachers will also act as Academic Advisor and portfolio tutor for a group of Year 3 or 4 students. You will also be involved in the assessment and selection of students, including OSCE examination and MMI.
This is an ideal post for resident doctors wishing to gain experience in Medical Education.
About you:
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching undergraduate medical students and of recently working as a medical practitioner within a clinical setting in a relevant speciality.
You will be be licenced to practice with the General Medical Council and will have completed the two-year NHS Foundation Programme or equivalent.
