The role

The Centre for Academic Language and Development is seeking to appoint a full-time Executive Assistant to join the Centre’s Administration Team. Reporting to the Senior Executive Assistant and Operations Coordinator, the postholder will provide high-quality executive and administrative support to the Centre. A key focus of the role is the oversight of teaching cover throughout a 12-month teaching schedule to comply with UKVI guidelines. The postholder will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and continually improving the Centre’s teaching cover rota, using daily monitoring of the Cover inbox to identify requirements and implement appropriate cover arrangements.

The role will be based in The Richmond Building with scope for blended working in line with University and Centre policy and guidance.

What will you be doing?

Using a range of Office365 tools, the role holder will provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and teaching team including: timetabling, teaching cover, room booking, diary management, recruitment support, event and travel organisation, updating the Centre’s SharePoint site, purchasing and reconciliation through ERP and general office admin as required.  They will also support the Centre Safety Adviser with related administration.

They must be highly organised, with a flexible, proactive and supportive approach to work, with a friendly and positive disposition.

Contract type: Fixed term until 31/12/2026

Work pattern: 35 hours/week

Shift pattern: 

Due to this role having a focus on organising teaching cover, often for 9am classes, the working hours will be 8am-4pm.
