We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant/Associate to make a contribution to an ERC-funded project "Dynamic network reconstruction of human perceptual and reward learning via multimodal data fusion", working with Prof. Marios Philiastides.
The post holder will have the opportunity to be involved in cutting-edge bespoke neuroimaging technology [3T/7TfMRI-EEG fusion] and advanced data analytics to uncover and predict patterns in large multimodal datasets [e.g. behaviour, simultaneous EEG-fMRI and eye-tracking data]. Main research themes include, but not limited to: reinforcement learning and valuation, risk and uncertainty, confidence and metacognition, evidence integration and decision making. The successful candidate will also be expected to work closely with other postdoctoral fellows to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help the PI manage the project as opportunities allow. See related lab publications below.
The School of Psychology and Neuroscience (SPN) is a world-class research and teaching unit situated within the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences. It has recently been rated 4th in the UK and 1st in Scotland, REF 2021 research output in Times Higher Education: Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience category. Dynamic neuroimaging is a particular strength of theSPN and is supported by a range of in-house technologies such as a 3T MRI scanner, several EEG and brain stimulation labs as well as the only state-of-the-art MEG facility and a 7T MRI scanner in Scotland. Key research themes at the SPN include perception, sensory-motor integration, attention, predictive processing, memory & plasticity, decision making, and social interactions.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and has funding available until 31st May 2027.
