The School of Psychology is seeking to appoint one Lecturer and one Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology (i.e., two posts) to join a collegial, supportive, and intellectually vibrant academic community. This appointment forms part of our continued investment in research excellence, building on recent successes that include growth in research grant and innovation funding, high-profile publications, and demonstrable impact within and beyond academia. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and enhancement of our educational provision, supporting an expanding and diverse student body across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

 As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology you can expect to be involved in:  

  • Developing, leading, delivering, and assessing high-quality teaching and learning materials across a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught modules, and contributing to core teaching within the School of Psychology.
  • Making a sustained and significant contribution to forensic-relevant research which enhances the national and international profile of the University of Kent’s School of Psychology.
  • Actively seeking external research funding and contributing to grant applications.
  • Engaging in knowledge exchange, impact, and/or professional practice activities.

 What will you bring to the role ?  

  • PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in Psychology or related discipline relevant to forensic psychology (A)
  • Experience in the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Forensic Psychology, commensurate with career stage (A,I,T)
  • Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) data analytic software used for teaching and supervision in the School (e.g., R and RStudio, Jamovi, JASP; NVivo; A/I)
  • Evidence of commitment to, and knowledge of, inclusive teaching and academic practice (A/I)
  • Evidence of research excellence, including publications in internationally competitive journals and conference presentations in Forensic Psychology

 For senior lecturer : 

  • Evidence of successful research funding awards from external funding bodies
  • A strong track record of peer reviewed publication in Forensic Psychology
