BACKGROUND
In 2022, the Alan Turing Institute launched the Centre for Emerging Technology and Security (CETaS), which is part of the Institute’s Defence and National Security Grand Challenge.
The Centre’s mission is to strengthen UK security through pioneering research and insights on emerging technologies.
We help to protect the UK by:
We are a team of researchers, technologists, former policymakers and practitioners with multidisciplinary expertise in fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, criminology, law and ethics.
The Managing Editor will lead the end-to-end delivery of CETaS publications, ensuring outputs are delivered to consistently high standards, proactively identifying new publications, ensuring content and digital engagement activity supports the Centre’s strategic objectives and thought leadership.
Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance is a requirement for this role. Eligibility criteria and further information on the process can be found on the UK Government security vetting website.

The Alan Turing Institute is based at the British Library, in the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter. We expect staff to come to our office at least 4 days per month. Some roles may require more days in the office; the hiring manager will be able to confirm this during the interview.
