Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in platelet research? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?
Cardiovascular orientated research is focused on the links between metabolism, inflammation and atherothrombotic disease. The current post is a British Heart Foundation funded project that will examine the role of platelets in driving vascular inflammation. It is based in the research group of Professor Khalid Naseem who leads a research group that seeks to identify novel biochemical and molecular mechanisms that contribute to the regulation of blood platelet activity and thrombosis. A range of techniques will be used in this project including the isolation of blood platelets, immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation, and in vitro models of thrombosis.
