About the Role
The Sexual health, HIV All East Research (SHARE) collaborative for health equity are recruiting 1 full-time Research Assistant to join their interdisciplinary research grouping based across both the Blizard Institute and Wolfson Institute of Population Health. The grouping was established to address the inequities that lead to poorer health outcomes from infections like HIV, mpox, viral hepatitis and COVID-19.
You will undertake research investigations in collaboration with and under the supervision of Professor Chloe Orkin to realise the objectives and development of the research programme into health equity. The role will be based in the Blizard Institute.
This is an opportunity for a candidate with a Postgraduate (MSc/ MA) qualification in a relevant subject, to be part of this exciting programme of work, spanning multiple strands. Your experiences to date will include conducting qualitative research (qualitative data collection and management) in a health care or community setting, and of conducting research with vulnerable / diverse populations.
About You
You will have a proven ability in both research design and in working sensitively and developing rapport and trust with research participants from different backgrounds, demonstrating a clear understanding of how your work can contribute to reducing inequities.

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students.
