As part of Manchester—a UNESCO City of Literature—the School is embedded in a thriving cultural and creative ecosystem, offering access to festivals, heritage initiatives, performance venues, and industry partners.
The School's research is ranked among the best in the UK, with world-leading impact in English language and literature. It is home to specialist centres including the Manchester Writing School—one of the largest and most successful writing schools globally—and the Manchester School of Theatre, renowned for producing exceptional actors and theatre-makers.
Together, this environment fosters creativity, critical thinking, and impactful communication, reflecting the School's mission to make a meaningful difference locally, nationally, and globally.
The School of English is seeking a creative, and professionally active journalist to contribute to its undergraduate and postgraduate Multimedia Journalism programmes.
