Job description:
The Thomson Lab at the University of Sheffield is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team investigating RNA modifications in a human stem cell and differentiation model. The successful candidate will perform cutting-edge direct rRNA sequencing analysis to profile rRNA modifications, contributing to our understanding of their role in stem cell biology and lineage commitment.
Applicants must have a PhD (or be close to completion/have equivalent experience) in cell or molecular biology and experience with culture and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). Experience in analysis of nanopore direct RNA sequencing data and flow cytometry are also essential. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-impact project within a collaborative and supportive research environment.
The University of Sheffield is a remarkable place to work. Our people are at the heart of everything we do. Their diverse backgrounds, abilities and beliefs make Sheffield a world-class university. We offer a fantastic range of benefits including a highly competitive annual leave entitlement (with the ability to purchase more), a generous pensions scheme, flexible working opportunities, a commitment to your development and wellbeing, a wide range of retail discounts, and much more.
