About us
King’s Centre for International Education and Languages (CIEL) is a new, cross-cutting Centre designed to widen the educational reach of King’s. It brings together three existing areas: King’s Foundations, Summer Programmes, & King’s Language Centre. Each of these areas is well established, respected and recognised beyond the King’s community. The Centre is focused on enabling collaboration between the three departments to further advance our work in promoting educational excellence and supporting and enhancing the student experience. The Centre has significant expertise in International Education and makes an important contribution to the rich and diverse make-up of the King’s student body.
King’s Foundations, part of the Centre for International Education and Languages (CIEL), delivers high-quality international pathway programmes, academic skills development, & English language preparation courses. Our mission is to enable and empower students to thrive at a world-leading university. We are committed to diversity, inclusivity, and cultural competence, and we pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding student experience that combines academic excellence with holistic support.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and appropriately qualified educator to lead the Business module within the King’s International Foundation Programme. This is a key role at an important point in the programme’s development, following the introduction of a new pathway model. The successful candidate will contribute to the review and redevelopment of the current Business Management module, ensuring it is academically rigorous, pedagogically robust, and aligned with progression to undergraduate study in a range of business-related disciplines.
The module attracts a diverse international cohort and plays a central role in preparing students for successful transition into UK higher education. We are therefore looking for a candidate who combines subject expertise with a strong understanding of foundation-level teaching and learning, and a commitment to inclusive, student-centred education.
You will have experience of designing and delivering successful Level 3 provision (or equivalent), and of using evidence-informed approaches to curriculum design, learning outcomes, and assessment. You will be able to create learning environments that both challenge and support students from a wide range of educational and cultural backgrounds and demonstrate a reflective approach to teaching practice.
The Lecturer in Business Education will take responsibility for the delivery and ongoing enhancement of an established and successful module, working collaboratively with students, King’s Foundations colleagues, and stakeholders across the university. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development, share effective practice, and engage in scholarly approaches to teaching and learning within an international education context, including contributing to scholarship, pedagogic innovation, and knowledge exchange activity across the department.
This is a full-time role (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
