Postgraduate Research Assistant

Oxford Brookes University - Health, Science and Technology

Location: Oxford
Salary: £28,778 rising to £31,236 (pro rata)
Hours: Part Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 16th April 2026
Closes: 30th April 2026
Job Ref: 191446

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Prof Kate Wilmut and Dr. Clare Rathbone on a project funded by the Waterloo Foundation to consider how we can support positive identity in adults with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) / dyspraxia. DCD is associated with poorer mental health outcomes, however, public understanding and support for DCD remain limited, especially compared to other neurodivergent conditions. This project will work alongside an active and engaged advisory group to create materials which will aim to help support the development of a positive identity in DCD. The post is for a 50% FTE graduate research assistant for six months. A successful candidate will work alongside Kate, Clare and the steering group, collect data and help to create materials.

A successful candidate must hold a degree in psychology (or be nearing completion) and have experience with primary data collection and data analysis. Knowledge of neurodivergences, specifically Developmental Coordination Disorder would be preferable.

Please note that this role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points based immigration system.
