We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Research Fellow to join a UKRI‑funded project within a leading academic environment. This role is based within the Community and Primary Care Research Centre (CPCRC) and contributes to the work of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration South West (ARC South West), within the Dementia and Neurological Conditions Theme.

You will contribute to high‑quality, impactful research focused on improving the lives of people living with dementia and neuroprogressive conditions. The role involves leading and supporting mixed‑methods research across the full research lifecycle, including study design, data collection, analysis, publication, and dissemination.

Working collaboratively with academic, clinical, and third‑sector partners, you will join a supportive interdisciplinary team, with opportunities to develop an independent research profile aligned to strategic priorities.

The post reports to Dr Nicolas Farina and is based within a collaborative, inclusive, and research‑active environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to mixed‑methods research across ARC South West projects, from design through to analysis and dissemination
  • Produce high‑quality peer‑reviewed publications
  • Support the development of funding applications and identify future funding opportunities
  • Translate research findings into real‑world practice and policy
  • Plan and carry out high‑quality individual and collaborative research, including with external institutions
  • Disseminate research findings through national and international conferences and other appropriate events
  • Represent the School, Faculty, and University externally within relevant research networks and committees

You will have:

  • A PhD (or equivalent international qualification) in health services research or a related subject, with a first degree in health services, social care research, psychology, sociology, or a related discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of UK health services and social care research, with strong expertise in mixed‑methods research
  • A developing national reputation and a sustained peer reputation within your field
  • A growing track record of peer‑reviewed publications and research grant applications
  • Experience of managing research projects and contributing to collaborative research networks
  • Experience of presenting research findings at meetings and conferences

For this role, you will be required to be on site two days per week. While hybrid working can be accommodated, flexibility to attend on‑site as required will be expected to meet business needs.
