The University of Reading is due to implement a Current Research Information System (CRIS) (PURE from Elsevier) in September 2026 with business process leads from the Library, Planning and Strategy and the Research, Engagement and Innovation Office. In addition, we are currently implementing a new whole funding lifecycle funding management system (Worktribe) with the first of our modules currently scheduled to go live from August 2026 and the implementation of the remaining modules scheduled to begin in September 2026.

We are looking to recruit a systems manager to help us finalise the implementation of both systems and to transition us into BAU. The role holder will help us configure and implement key new modules, engaging with key stakeholders and users to ensure adoption of the systems and processes they underpin, as well as developing and delivering appropriate training for end users.

You will have :

  • Experience of supporting and/or managing a Current Research Information System and/or a Costing and Funding management system
  • Experience of implementing new research systems and processes
  • Experience of providing a high level of customer service, for example through running a system helpdesk and training new system users
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure

We welcome applications from both external and internal candidates. As part of the University’s ongoing commitment to professional development, this role can be considered on a seconded basis for existing staff members.
