To provide clerical and administrative support within the Respiratory Medicine Research Group, based at Castle Hill Hospital, under the supervision of the Clinical Trials Manager.

The successful applicant will be an experienced administrator who is IT literate, especially with Microsoft office applications, and have experience of working in a busy office environment.

We are looking for a strong team player who has excellent communication skills and experience of customer service, as you will be the initial reception point for patients and visitors.

Experience of working in the NHS would be essential for this post, Knowledge of clinical research would also be beneficial.

The post holder will be required to:

  • Provide an efficient reception and administrative service to the research group, including acting as initial reception for visitors.
  • Deal with appointments and queries from patients/volunteers and colleagues within the Trust, the University and other organisations
  • General clerical duties, including maintenance of filing systems, updating databases and spreadsheets, diary management, photocopying, handling correspondence, taking and disseminating meeting minutes.
  • Maintenance of consumable stock levels for the research group, ensuring compliance with relevant organisation finance procedures.
  • Facilitating the requests for and collection of medication for clinical trial visits from Pharmacy.
  • Organising doctor cover for clinical trial patient visits.
  • Requesting and tracking hospital notes as required and in accordance with HEY NHS Trust policies.
  • Maintenance of petty cash and payments to volunteers using a standardised process.
  • Engage with the wider research administration group and attend regular team meetings.
