Changzhou Institute of Technology (referred to as CIT) is a public full-time Higher Education Institution approved by the Ministry of Education in China. It is located in the economically vibrant Yangtze River Delta region, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. Hertfordshire College, CIT is a Sino-foreign joint institute established by the University of Hertfordshire and CIT. It jointly designs and delivers programmes leading to awards from both the University of Hertfordshire and CIT. It was approved by the Ministry of Education in China, and enrols a maximum of 240 undergraduate students across 3 programmes every year.

Changzhou Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to deliver English language and academic skills modules.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and academic skills to undergraduate students.
  • Preparing and delivering engaging, student-focused lessons.
  • Designing and assessing both formative and summative assessments.
  • Supporting curriculum development and contributing to the enhancement of academic programmes.
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to students.
  • Attending staff meetings and participating in events to promote the programmes.

Post Requirements:

  • A recognised TEFL qualification.
  • A Master’s degree or Doctoral degree
  • A minimum of two years' teaching experience, preferably in English for Academic Purposes or related fields.

This post also offers the potential for further teaching opportunities at either Changzhou Institute of Technology or as a visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield after the initial contract period.
