They will either support or perform upper GI endoscopies (depending on prior clinical experience), and contribute to collection and processing of research samples. They will lead in study data collection, analysis and write-up, and will present results at local and national meetings. It is expected that they will contribute substantially to manuscripts for publication.
The post-holder may also contribute to other clinical trials in coeliac disease and gastroenterology. Depending on their prior training and interests, the post-holder may also have opportunities for clinic or endoscopy work in the Department of Gastroenterology. There may be opportunities to join the gastroenterology on-call out of hours GI bleed rota.
This post will require a medical qualification and licence to practice in the UK, with MRCP or equivalent physician licensing examinations, and prior experience in gastroenterology or relevant clinical experience. It could be suitable as an out of programme research experience (OOPR), or for senior clinical trainees in gastroenterology.
