Arts University Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to lead its BA (Hons) Fashion, Media & Marketing degree. This is an academic leadership position within the University, contributing to the ongoing development of the subject area and the advancement of innovative, student-centred pedagogy.
The role supports the delivery of high-quality learning and teaching across academic, practical, and technical contexts, while maintaining academic standards and an excellent student experience. The role integrates teaching, scholarship, and research to ensure the curriculum is current, industry-relevant, and forward-looking.
You will be:
- A practising creative professional, with experience in the Fashion/Fashion Business/Marketing industries
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in your subject area.
- A dynamic and progressive educator, with excellent interpersonal skills, able to create a positive course culture and community of professional practice.
- Educated to postgraduate level
You will have:
- Professional teaching experience at Higher Education level, including curriculum planning, all aspects of teaching and learning, assessment, pastoral support and management of the student experience.
- Good people management skills, capable of line managing and leading a team of academic lecturers, motivating and supporting individuals and teams to deliver high standards
- Strong administrative skills, capable of organising and prioritising workload, managing budgets and delivering projects.
- A good level of digital literacy and the ability to analyse and interpret data to support management reporting and decision making.
- A good understanding of the creative industries with the ability to build external relationships and partnerships, raising the profile of the University and creating progression opportunities for our graduates
