Opportunity Overview
The IT Technician Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day, solution-focused leadership of a large team of IT Technicians, delivering second-line support across a multi-site campus environment. This includes overseeing the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, as well as ensuring high-quality support for staff, students, and schools both remotely and in person, in line with agreed service level agreements.
The role plays a key part in driving continual service improvement, championing best practice and embedding ITIL-aligned processes across the team. This includes proactive incident management, technical triage, and the coordination of complex escalations, alongside the development of documented procedures.
In addition, the IT Technician Team Leader is responsible for team leadership and development, including performance management, cross-skilling initiatives and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. The role contributes to the creation of technical roadmaps and supports the delivery of the Digital IT strategy through innovation and service enhancement.
Through effective resource planning, management reporting and vendor coordination, the role ensures appropriate staffing levels are maintained to support both project delivery and planned works, without compromising business-as-usual service operations within a 24/7 environment.
