About the Role
The River Communities Group at Queen Mary University of London works with environmental agencies and water companies, providing analytical services, quality assurance audits, data analysis and tool development for bioassessment. Much of this work directly supports regulatory responsibilities, helping protect and manage UK water resources. The role holder will join a number of research staff in a project team and will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the scientific objectives of the project.
About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual, with a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject. You should have experience of both field techniques for sampling aquatic invertebrates, and the identification of aquatic invertebrates from a range of sites to species level. A good awareness of the health and safety requirements of sampling rivers and an understanding of research protocols is also required.

The River Communities Group are based at the River Laboratory, Wareham, Dorset, a centre dedicated to freshwater research with direct access to the river Frome chalk stream SSSI and a suite of experimental facilities.
