Description of Post
The successful candidate will lead the development of the clinical skills and simulation programme, ensuring students acquire the practical, professional and communication skills required for veterinary practice. The role will involve working closely with academic staff, veterinary practitioners and other healthcare professionals to deliver innovative, simulation-based teaching and interprofessional learning.
ATU particularly welcomes applications from experienced veterinary nurses with a strong background in clinical practice, clinical training or professional education who wish to contribute to the development of the next generation of veterinary professionals.
The successful candidate will play a leading role in developing a modern clinical skills and simulation programme that prepares veterinary students for clinical training and professional practice.
The role will support the development of a state-of-the-art clinical skills environment, ensuring students develop practical competence, professional behaviours and collaborative skills from the beginning of their training.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must have completed a suitable teaching and learning programme in line with the requirements of the Veterinary Council of Ireland. An applicant who has not completed such training will be deemed to have met the minimum requirements upon receipt of a commitment to commence appropriate training within one year of appointment.
