From service desk to systems architecture, the team plays a key role in improving efficiency, security, and the future of IT across the division.

ITSG has an exciting opportunity for an ITSG associate (IT Departmental Officer) to join the team! You will provide IT and AV support to staff, students and visitors in a ITSG supported department and across the Social Sciences Division.

This is a great opportunity to represent a shared IT service, combining technical support with elements of client and service management, in a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

About the Role

This is a user-facing role involving both first and second-line support, maintaining departmental systems, and collaborating with colleagues across departments. You’ll work closely with the system administration team to support and manage IT infrastructure and contribute to broader service initiatives through cross-departmental rotations that enhance skills and understanding of different working environments.

This is a full-time, permanent role.

About You

Experience in a user‑facing first‑line IT support or helpdesk role is essential, with the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues across Windows and macOS environments, including desktop applications, networking, and core Microsoft systems such as Active Directory and Windows Server.

The post would suit someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills who can work independently and collaboratively to service levels, explain technical issues clearly to end users, and uphold best practice in data security and backup.

Application Process

If you are interested in this role and have the skills and experience, we are looking for, please apply online. You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
