The opportunity:
To contribute to the development of a collaborative research programme that will determine the molecular basis of Rett Syndrome. The project will involve generating cell lines carrying mutated versions of MeCP2 and its partner proteins in order to test models for its role in regulating gene expression.
The post-holder will use a range of molecular biology techniques to enable genetic manipulation of clinically relevant target genes to generate mutated switchable alleles. The candidate will also contribute to molecular and experimental validation of these disease models.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week).
