The role
This role will support the day to day operation of Beacon House which is part of a larger estate, along with providing front of house pro-active customer service, information and support to students, staff and visitors.
The Beacon House Receptionist role is 35 hours per week and shifts are 08:00-16:00, including Bank Holidays & selected closure dates which will be reflected in annual leave allocation.
What will you be doing?
A key function of the Reception role involves overseeing enquiries from students, staff and visitors, in person, via email and telephone. Enquiries will primarily be logged via an Enquiry Database, which the post holder will be required to interrogate to produce reports and management information for use by the Senior Facilities Manager. The post holder will work collaboratively with a Beacon House team comprising café, cleaning, estates assistant and library support staff, sharing best practice and striving to provide excellent customer service.
The reception role also involves implementing the security system in Beacon House: operating the security doors, checking the identification of visitors, dealing with suspicious visitors and packages, thus safeguarding personal and University property and personal safety. Liaising with Security when issues may arise that require support.
You should apply if
You have experience in delivering outstanding customer service in a front of house setting with excellent inter-personal skills. You have sound organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, working in a busy environment whilst maintaining accuracy.
