Christ Church invites applications for a fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in Modern British and European History.
This is a part-time temporary, fixed-term position to fulfil a current teaching need arising from Professor Young’s sabbatical leave for the period 1 October 2026 – 30 September 2027 therefore, the appointment carries with it no expectation of permanent employment at Christ Church.
The successful candidate will deliver nine hours of tutorial teaching per week, averages over the three eight-week terms of each academic year. Applicants should be able to teach tutorials for the following papers: History of the British Isles V: 1685-1830 for Prelims and for Finals; European and World History VIII: 1680-1815 (Enlightenments and Revolutions) for Finals. They may also teach for Option and Further Subject papers as appropriate, depending on their research specialism.
This post is offered on a one-year fixed-term temporary basis with a salary of £25,358 - £28,004 (current rates) per annum, according to qualifications and experience.
