Assistant Lecturer in Automation and Control Engineering

Description of Post

The Assistant Lecturer in Automation and Control Engineering will play a key role in the delivery and development of undergraduate programmes within the Department of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at ATU Donegal (Letterkenny Campus). The position involves teaching, assessment, and academic support in areas such as (but not limited to) automation systems, control engineering, mechatronics, robotics, industrial electronics, and smart manufacturing technologies. Teaching responsibilities will be allocated annually by the Head of Department and may include lectures, laboratories, project supervision, and assessment. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in research and scholarly activity, contribute to programme and curriculum development, support quality assurance processes, and actively participate in the academic life and future development of the department and university.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

• An Honours (2.2 or higher) Level 8 degree as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or equivalent majoring in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Three years relevant post graduate experience, i.e. 3 years relevant experience having gained the qualifications above.
