Assistant Lecturer in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

Description of Post

The Assistant Lecturer in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering will contribute to the teaching, assessment, and delivery of undergraduate programmes within the Department of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at ATU Donegal (Letterkenny Campus). The role will involve teaching across core areas of mechanical and manufacturing engineering, including (but not limited to) engineering design, manufacturing processes, and applied engineering technologies, with duties assigned annually by the Head of Department. The successful candidate will support student learning through lectures, laboratory instruction, supervision of projects, assessment, and academic guidance. In addition, the postholder will be expected to contribute to research, scholarly activity, programme development, quality assurance processes, and the ongoing academic and strategic development of the department and faculty.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

• An Honours (2.2 or higher) Level 8 degree as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or equivalent majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
• Three years relevant post graduate experience, i.e. 3 years relevant experience having gained the qualifications above.
