About the Role
The Research Assistant will support the Youth Resilience Unit, in delivering the ORChiD project on online risks and resilience in children’s daily lives. The role involves coordinating patient and public involvement, managing advisory group meetings, and conducting empirical research in schools and community settings. The post-holder will contribute to study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination, ensuring all work aligns with research co-production principles and good clinical practice. Applicants should have experience working with young people and families, an interest in youth mental health and digital technology use, and strong organisational and communication skills. The team will provide mentorship and training to enhance methodological and analytical expertise while supporting impactful research that promotes youth wellbeing.
About You
Candidates must be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant science discipline. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge of clinical research, an understanding of the research process and co-creation with patient and public involvement, and familiarity with Good Clinical Practice and the regulatory requirements governing clinical research. Knowledge of youth mental health research and/or health interventions for this population, along with experience developing Standard Operating Procedures, conducting research in schools, carrying out qualitative interviews, focus groups and workshops would be highly desirable.
