This PhD project will explore innovative chemical engineering solutions to support sustainable process engineering, low-carbon industrial systems, and resource-efficient technologies.
Research themes may incorporate areas aligned with the department’s strengths, including resource and energy efficiency, renewable feedstocks and cleaner production pathways, complex fluids and multiphase flows in sustainable chemical systems, advanced separation and purification, water and wastewater treatment, and applied materials and technologies for clean processes, depending on the applicant’s interests and expertise.
The project will be finalised with the successful candidate.
Funding
Covers full tuition, £21,805 stipend (2026/27), plus up to £1,000 yearly for research costs.
