The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching Associate in Ancient History from 1 October 2026 for twelve months. The post is open to those at any stage of their career, with a primary research and teaching interest in any area of ancient history. The Faculty is particularly interested in applicants with an ability to teach topics in Greek history and Greek epigraphy.
The teaching will be around 40 hours per year of Faculty teaching. The bulk of this will be undergraduate lectures; it may also include language classes. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to take a full part in undergraduate examinations (including the setting and marking of language/translation papers), in the supervision and examination of MPhil students, and in the administration of the Faculty.
