You will be an influential member of a close-knit group of academics behind a varied programme of research-led teaching, student support, workshops, seminars and forward-thinking studies that build the integrated multi-professional school portfolio offering education and development to the pre-registration and post qualifying workforce within health and social care.

You will provide teaching related to anticipating and meeting the needs of people with learning disability within integrated care approaches, including, acute, public health, primary health care and community and social care environments. This is offered within a portfolio of modules developing a contemporary and evidence-based approach to care corresponding to the Ten-Year Plan for the NHS. Working within a team you will deliver the vibrant, real-world education your students deserve. You will have some clinical experience within Learning Disability Nursing within the domains of practice indicated. You will offer student support and tutorials and will also support learning in practice settings.

The Person

You will hold professional registration with a professional body and will have appropriate clinical experience within Learning Disability Nursing. You are adept at working autonomously. A first degree is essential and an MSc or above is desirable. A recognised teaching or learning qualification is not essential although it is desirable. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained).

On a personal level, you are motivated to deliver exceptional teaching and support to our students. You will use your experience of working in clinical delivery to promote integrated high-quality evidence based professional practice across everything you do. Constantly seeking to improve, you will scrutinise your own work, build private and public sector networks, and work collaboratively to enhance the faculty’s reputation in higher education and occupational circles.

This is a part time (22.20 hours per week), permanent position with a starting salary of £27,015 per annum (pro rata) for a Lecturer and £30,096 per annum (pro rata) for a Senior Lecturer, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
