About the role
This role supports Professor Angela Aristidou’s research programme on AI and the Economy, focusing on how smaller, less resourced organisations adopt artificial intelligence. The research aims to understand barriers to AI adoption, evaluate the impact of low-cost interventions, and assess outcomes such as AI readiness, behaviour changes, and business performance over time.
The postholder will assist with a range of research activities, including data collection, curation, merging, analysis, and reporting. Data sources include regular customised surveys, administrative datasets (e.g. Beauhurst and Companies House), and company strategy documents.
This is a fixed-term position to begin as soon as possible until 6th April 2027.
Part-time: up to 18.25 hours per week- variable (depending on project timetable)
Salary: UCL Grade 6, £19.14 per hour (including London Allowance)
About you
The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as social science, engineering, statistics, or computer science, and will have experience in data collection, processing, and analysing survey-based data. They will demonstrate experience in managing large databases and supporting academic research, alongside excellent working knowledge of Qualtrics and the Microsoft Office Suite. A high level of literacy and numeracy is essential, as is a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
The candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling them to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders involved in the research project. They will be able to meet time-critical deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
When completing your supporting statement, please tell us, using examples, how you meet the essential criteria listed in the job description.
