The Cambridge Centre for Myelin Repair (CCMR) is a UK research initiative funded by the MS Society, with a clear mission: to accelerate the development of effective treatments for progressive multiple sclerosis, where there are currently no therapies to halt disability progression.
CCMR brings together leading scientists and clinicians at the University of Cambridge, working at the interface of fundamental neuroscience and clinical translation to drive advances from discovery to patient benefit.
The Centre is directed by Thóra Káradóttir (Cambridge Stem Cell Institute), with co-Directors Alasdair Coles and Stefano Pluchino (Department of Clinical Neurosciences). CCMR brings together leading expertise across basic and clinical neuroscience, working in close partnership with collaborators across academia, healthcare, and patient communities.
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Project Coordinator to play a central role in the delivery and development of this ambitious programme.
This is a dynamic and visible position at the heart of a high-impact research environment. The post holder will work closely with the Director, co-Directors, and Centre investigators, supporting the coordination of scientific, operational, and strategic activities, and helping to build a cohesive, collaborative, and outward-facing research community.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be University educated in a life sciences discipline (or equivalent), with experience in research administration or project coordination. They will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced academic environment and able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, funders, and external partners.
They will demonstrate:
This is an opportunity to contribute directly to a programme aiming to transform outcomes for people living with multiple sclerosis. The role offers significant scope to shape how a research centre operates, connects, and grows, both within Cambridge and internationally.
Full-time (1.0 FTE; change to part time and flexible working arrangements available);
Fixed term until 31 March 2031 (in the first instance)
