Our “Winding Centre of Excellence” and PERMIT lab, funded by Innovate UK’s Driving the Electric Revolution – Industrialisation Centres, is a significant investment in research in manufacturing, with the aim of developing designs and manufacturing process and techniques, applying new materials to reduce cost, improve efficiency and power density.
About You
The Research Fellow will be an expert in the design and testing of advanced electrical machines. They will have deep understanding of the design and testing of electrical machines and their future developments that will improve total cost, performance, and efficiency.
The post is associated with research topics from materials, component design to systems and applications of electrical machines and the practical aspects of installing and operating test equipment.

PhD Status
If you are near submission of your PhD, or have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made at Research Assistant level, at the highest spinal point of pay grade 5 (£34,610 per annum).
Upon receipt of evidence confirming the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow, at the lowest spinal point of grade 6 (£35,608 per annum).
