Founded in 1902, UCL Institute of Education has been shaping policy and helping government, organisations and individuals navigate a changing society for the last 120 years.

The Centre for Chinese Language Education (CCLE) sits within the department of Culture Communication and Media at UCL Institute of Education (IOE).

The CCLE is leading a major expansion in the teaching and learning of Mandarin Chinese language in the school system in England. CCLE delivers teaching and learning programmes that include support for schools to teach Chinese language on curriculum, teacher training, resource development and research.

Schools across the country are increasingly offering Mandarin Chinese as an option for their students. The CCLE supports schools in starting and developing the teaching and learning of Mandarin Chinese. As well as a small team of specialists in London, the CCLE works across schools in England that have both Chinese firmly embedded in their own curriculum and which give advice, support and taster classes to other schools in their region looking to start offering Chinese.

In this post, you will:

• Support schools in starting and developing the teaching and learning of Mandarin Chinese, working across a range of projects.
• Build and support effective relationships to strengthen the CCLE network of teachers and schools.

About you

With successful experience of project planning, and proactively taking on and sharing ownership of tasks to reach planned outcomes, you will also have experience of creating and sending marketing materials and the confidence and experience to write dynamic web content
