Job description:
Are you an experienced Research Technician with a strong background in cell culture, viral and molecular assays and a passion for real-world impact immunology and virology research?
We are looking for a skilled, highly professional and driven Research Technician to join Professor Thushan de Silva’s team as part of the Clinical Infection Research Group (CIRG) based in the School of Medicine and Population Health at the University of Sheffield.
You will have a life sciences degree including a portfolio of research laboratory experience in the field of virology or immunology, including proficiency in cell culture, RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, and/or NGS library preparation. You will be an integral part of a supportive and ambitious team of world class scientists and clinicians working on a project developing a first-in-class broad-spectrum therapeutic to block viral infection and transmission. As the project involves international collaborators, you will work closely with the teams in the USA and the Netherlands.
