Applications are invited for the full-time, permanent position of Lecturer in Engineering Management (Type B) in the School of Engineering at the University of Galway. The university seeks to appoint a world-class individual with specific expertise in operational excellence, data-driven performance improvement, quality engineering, and regulatory compliance to strengthen the University of Galway’s international position in advanced manufacturing, manufacturing systems, and sustainable industrial performance.

The School is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates with a competitive background in Management/Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related disciplines, with a specific focus on operational excellence, data-driven performance improvement, quality engineering, regulatory compliance, and related domains. The successful candidate will develop innovative teaching, informed by cutting-edge research and industrial best practice, to prepare graduates for careers in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, software engineering, and regulated industries. They will build a research programme that addresses critical problems faced by industry partners in Ireland, Europe, and globally, working closely with colleagues in the School of Engineering, School of Computer Science, J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics, and other relevant disciplines.

The successful candidate will actively contribute to the strategic visions of the University of Galway and the College of Science and Engineering.

The successful candidate shall possess a PhD in Engineering Management, Industrial/Manufacturing/Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline, significant research experience, and expertise in one or more of the following areas: operational excellence, data-driven performance improvement, quality engineering, regulatory compliance, and related domains, and their application in fields including manufacturing and software engineering. Salary: €64,903 to €103,538 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
